My Wild Journey
From the oil rig to the classroom and now energy transformation, I am embracing change and inviting adventure as I navigate an exciting time in human evolution!
I grew up skiing in the Canadian Rockies and kayaking off Vancouver Island’s West Coast. My connection to the environment is intimate: my dad taught me wilderness survival skills and an appreciation of what gives us life — the land!
As an adult, I enjoy fly fishing in Alberta’s beautiful rivers, rock climbing to face fears and mountain biking across B.C.
Having spent nearly 10 years drilling for oil, I have a unique perspective on the interplay between energy and the environment.
Join me on my journey to discover manufactured landscapes and analyze the anthropogenic effects humans have on the environment I love
You need to have an inquiring mind. You have to ask questions (…), not accept what is given, but say: “Why is it so?” And it is in that kind of asking that you begin to get behind some of the issues that allow the world appear the way it does. So if you just accept the world the way it is and don’t question it I can’t see how you can go far creatively.” – Edward Burtynsky
